Quick Facts
Streetscape improvements and widening along more than 3,000 feet of a major urban arterial
Improvements include wider sidewalks, bike lanes, two-way left-turn lane, landscaping, roadway lighting, new traffic signals, enhanced pedestrian crossing, and fiber optic communications for signal interconnect
Results
Enhanced the aesthetics of Farmington Road through streetscaping improvements like street trees and lighting
Improved pedestrian and cyclist safety by providing wider, continuous sidewalks and bike lanes along both sides of the roadway
Improved vehicle operations and safety by adding a continuous two-way left-turn lane throughout the corridor, reducing conflicts, and removing left-turning vehicles from travel lanes
Improved connectivity and access spacing by realigning 141st Avenue with 142nd Avenue, and providing a signalized intersection at Farmington Road
Our Work
Worked as part of a multidisciplinary team to take the project from the initial alternatives analysis through final design
