Named as one of the “Best Firms to Work For” by Zweig White, DKS Associates is a growing, national, employee-owned specialty transportation engineering consulting firm. We are seeking a talented engineering professional with extensive traffic signal operations, timing and operational modeling experience who will be responsible for planning, development, implementation, fine tuning and evaluation of traffic signal timings. The successful candidate will perform technical engineering work, manage projects and lead a team of engineers on traffic operations projects including signal timing projects, corridor studies and operational analyses. Experience in the development of operational models using traffic simulation tools such as Synchro, VISSIM and Vistro expected.  Responsibilities will include analysis of traffic signal operation on arterials and networks, specification of applicable data collection, development of new signal timing parameters based on detailed analysis, inputting traffic signal plans via central control systems and/or directly into local controllers, and design and analysis of traffic surveys to evaluate signal timing effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.  Master’s preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in transportation engineering and/or planning.
• California P.E. in Civil Engineering, P.T.O.E. is desirable.
• Experience with client meetings, public meetings, proposals and project management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience preparing technical reports.
• Consulting firm and business development experience.
