Congratulations to DKS’ own Randy McCourt who was elected as the 2019 Institute of Transportation Engineers International Vice President.
Randy’s campaign promise is “To enhance the ITE member experience through networking, partnerships, and technical expertise.” He joined ITE in 1976 and has served at the International, District, and Section levels of ITE. Randy’s role as ITE Vice President will focus on expanding member knowledge, expertise, and technical products in emerging transportation areas of safety, technology, smarter mobility, and relationships of transportation with health and equity.
Randy had the following to say on his appointment, “The transportation industry is in a great transformation due to technology. It is unlike anything dating back to the advent of the interstate programs. In addition, Bruce Belmore, P.Eng., PTOE, AVS (F) was elected as the 2019 International President of ITE. Both will take office in January 2019. Per Constitutional Amendments passed in 2017, the election process was streamlined in 2018. The earlier election of the 2019 officers will allow them to participate in the upcoming 2018 ITE District meetings in preparation for their leadership roles in 2019.
